Irish Riviera

The South & South East of Ireland has some fabulous beaches and stretches of coastline. One are that has grown and built up a great reputation of late is Ardmore in Co. Waterford.
Originally a monastic site founded by St Declan in the early christian centuries overlooking a beautiful stretch of beach and blue water, it now welcomes vacationers as opposed to pilgrims. However this beautiful coastal town nestled between Dungarvan and Youghal towns is still pretty much unspoilt.
Now home to the boutique Cliff House Hotel, set as its name suggests on a cliff overlooking the beach and town. It is lovely here, all the rooms are beautifully presented and the views they all present over the bay  spectacular. Add some sun and a relaxing drink on the veranda by the bar and you could be in the riviera.

There are some beautiful B&B’s here also for those who want the family home touch.

As for restaurants, you wont go hungry in Ardmore, the award winning chef in the Cliff House Hotel use great local produce for that high end mix of traditional and fusion cooking. Then down in the town there is the renowned Whitehorses restaurant. Here you will get super home cooked food in a great homely atmosphere, but save room for desert if you are here, they are well worth it!

Yet when you take all of that into account you still have the cities of Cork and Waterford in an easy driving distance from here.
